Alright, an update from me!

September 21st, 2009

Trinity had the snack bucket today.  It was very exciting.  She brought her favorite, Ritz Crackerfuls and Capri Suns.  For show and tell, she brought her little bunny.  My mom and I picked her up from preschool and we went to lunch at Macaroni Grill.  Delish!  Then it was a nice break to drop them off for some dress up/play time while I went home to clean house ALONE.  Yes, that is really wonderful!  lol

Gracie is doing well in ballet.  I can’t wait till the family and friends night and everyone will be able to see her.  She dances so beautifully.  I feel like it is an outlet for her, and a way for her to express herself.

I know she’s been through a lot and it’s hard sometimes to remember that when she’s screaming or whining or just being crazy.  But underneath all that craziness is a scared little girl.  She’s so scared she’ll lose her mommy again.  And I’m bound and determined not to be sick again.  Whatever that looks like.  I’ll take my stupid Tamoxifen that makes me have insane hot flashes, I’ll endure the scans and ultrasounds and tests, even though they hurt, because I’m not leaving that girl.  Ever.

Friday night is the survivor’s fashion show at Penn Square.  We’ll all be modeling this year, Chris, Gracie and I are coming back for the third year now, and this will be Trinity’s debut.  We’ll see how she does!  It should be a good time.  Come out if you’d like!  The fashion show will start at 7:30, and there will be wine and munchies.  I’d love to see you there!

Oh… and some pictures for you too!

My babies!

My babies!

Gracie's first day of first grade!

Trinity's first day of Preschool!

Trinity's first day of Preschool!

They’re getting so big.  I can’t keep up!  First grade and preschoolers now, I have a little bit of time to myself.  First time in six years that has happened!  I’m enjoying them so much, they are best friends and sweet children.  I am so blessed.  I thank God every day that I get to stay here a little while and watch them grow up.  I remember taking “baby steps” in my thinking when I was sick.  First, I’d think, “just get Gracie off to Pre-K” and then I’d think “just live long enough so that you can see Trinity learn crawl” and then it was “just live long enough to see Gracie go to Kindergarten” and those thoughts motivated me…to keep going, every day.  Then all of a sudden I look back and that was a million days ago!  How did we get here?  I’m healthy and strong and the mommy they deserve.  I’m so lucky.  So very lucky!

Been a long time. Again.

Sorry, I’m just really so busy I forget I need to update every now and then. We are doing well. I’m all healthy and there have been some major changes, but everything is so good. We just have to know that God is in control. Chris lost his job at Dell, and we decided that was the perfect time to start up our business, his dream, Golden Years Computer Services. So we are busy working on the business plan and promoting his services to churches, small businesses, and just regular people too! Gracie is officially a first grader and is LOVING being in school full days. Trinity started My Lambs and loves being in school “like Sissy” Very exciting. Me? Oh I’m just doing the normal mom thing, clipping coupons, shopping for bargains, working at MDO and trying to stay on top of the housework. Things NEVER settle down around here, so now that I have figured that out, maybe I’ll be posting more. The dishes and laundry can wait for the most part. The more I do, the more I have to do. So I am trying to tell you that I am committing to keep this blog up again. That is, if I have any readers left. I’ll do the best I can to get pics on here and maintain it. There are just some things I don’t want to put on facebook. lol

Hmmm…what to say?

April 27th, 2009

An update after three months is a little awkward.  But I’ll do what I can.

Chris.  Dell.  Basketball.  Currently listening to rap music in the computer room.  Wants a new jeep.  We’re working on it.   He’s staying pretty busy at work, which is good, because that means he has survived round two of major layoffs in OKC.  We’re thankful but so sad for the friends he had to see let go.  It was so hard on him and everyone there.  We are praying and hoping our friends find great jobs and that their needs will be met during this time.

Gracie.  Finishing up Kindy, already!   My big girl!  She got her ears pierced for her birthday, and she’s starting to look more and more like a little girl every day.  Some days we really see a good glimpse of the teenage years though, I swear she is 6 going on 17 the way she rolls those eyes at me.   But she makes us proud.  She loves math (?) and is excelling in reading and writing.  She wrote her first book called “Jump Frog Jump” that was pretty precious.  Oh–and we’ve lost two teeth!  The tooth fairy has been busy! Currently she’s gearing up for the Kindergarten Musical called “At the Hop.”  We’re all excited to see her singing and dancing in a pink poodle skirt.

Trinity.  Wow.  What can I say about Tiny? She’s THREE!  How in the heck is that even possible?  She gets to go out to dinner with Ma and Da on Wednesday, her choice on the restaurant…and then her party is on Saturday. Yo Gabba Gabba theme, family, a couple friends, hot dogs and cupcakes.  It should be pretty fun.   She’s all about me right now, her favorite phrases are “I want my mommy” and “I love my mommy too much”  Honestly, I don’t mind being loved “too much” by that sweet baby.  She’s also pretty darned attached to the Gracie girl, and she’s been sleeping in Gracie’s (full size) bed with her at night.  It’s the most precious thing in the world to go in to wake them up in the morning and to see them cuddling one another.    I’m so happy I have two little girls!

Me.  Still cancer free!  I had a “suspicious” mole removed and it was NOTHING!  Yay!  Katie, my co teacher, says I have fairy hair.  It’s long and dark and super curly.  I like having fairy hair.  =)  And I am enjoying my new reconstructed boobs. It’s weird to think I went so long without anything there.  The more I look back on that time in my life, with chemo, body-disfiguring surgery, sunburned-feeling radiated skin, more surgery, ICU, recovery, the more I realize there was no way I did any of that without having God right along side me.

Okay, well, I’m sleepy.  Will this do for a little while?  I’ll add more pics when I get a chance.  The girls are changing so much every day, it’s hard to keep up.  I gave up scrapbooking, so maybe when I’m old and gray and I don’t have anything else to do I will take all my gazillion photos and start organizing again.  We’ll see.

I'm back!

April 27th, 2009

Can you believe it? After three months of not posting anything exciting? I’m so sorry guys. Things have been nuts. But I promise I’ll be better in the future!
